Atlantic Music Festival 2021 COVID-19 Action Plan

The Atlantic Music Festival began just as the financial crisis of 2008 had devastated the world. We came under the banner of Leonard Bernstein's quote, "this will be our reply to violence: to make music more intensely, more beautifully, more devotedly than ever before," providing healing through music and offering all of our concerts free of charge.

Our ability to face challenging times is part of our DNA. We remain committed to our mission of serving the community through the gift of music and by creating a place where musicians from all over the world can harness their full artistic potential in a supportive and idyllic setting.

We are closely monitoring the development of the Coronavirus (COVID-19) crisis. This page serves as a central source of information on the status of our concerts and programs.

OUR ACTION PLAN

We are hard at work preparing for an inspiring 2021 summer season. Creating a safe and effective environment for you to thrive is our number one priority.

With over a decade of expertise and an innovative proprietary platform, AMF Institute is ready to deliver an unparalleled experience for all on-campus and online participants.

This is a living document. We will continue to update it based on the latest available COVID-19 prevention data and government recommendations.

We are prepared to use the most effective prevention measures available when the 2021 summer season rolls around. These may include mandatory COVID-19 testing, use of masks, and social distancing measures. Our on-campus staff will receive extensive training to ensure safety and compliance by both our participants and artist-faculty members.

Furthermore, we are subject to our host Colby College's comprehensive COVID-19 response plan. Information is available on https://covid19.colby.edu/.

Transformative Summer Experience

Atlantic Music Festival continues to be one of the most inspiring summer music festivals in the nation

AMF Institute provides a transformative musical experience for musicians from all around the world. Each year, the festival committee invites over two hundred musicians specializing in composition, conducting, orchestral instruments, piano, and voice, based on their talent and potential to make a difference in this world.

Make An Impact

"This will be our reply to violence: to make music more intensely, more beautifully, more devotedly than ever before."
– Leonard Bernstein

From its inception, the festival not only drew extraordinary talent but attracted musicians with the vision to empower the world through their music. For the last decade, I AM Four Years Old campaign served as a public reaffirmation of this effort. Join us this summer as we once again posit the question of what it means to serve our community.
