Venue Information

The following is a list of main venues for the Atlantic Music Festival. Atlantic Music Festival concerts take place at Colby College as well as many different venues across the state of Maine. Please consult the season calendar for up-to-date information.

COLBY COLLEGE

Colby College is the current host of the Atlantic Music Festival. Colby's 714-acre Mayflower Hill campus is hailed as one of the most attractive campuses in the nation. It is located 20 minutes from the state capital and an hour north of Portland or south of Bangor. Most of the campus, including the 128-acre Perkins Arboretum, is a Maine Wildlife Management Area. Colby completed a move from its former campus in downtown Waterville in 1952.

LORIMER CHAPEL

The first building completed (in 1937) on Colby's Mayflower Hill campus, seats 650 and is a popular venue for lectures, concerts, campus gatherings and convocations, as well as for religious services. Smaller events are held in Rose Chapel, in the east wing of the building.

Directions: Follow directions to Colby's campus. As you come onto campus on Mayflower Hill Drive, turn left on Cotter Drive, opposite the Diamond Building. To drop off passengers or for limited handicapped-access parking, follower Cotter Drive past Eustis, Lovejoy, and Cotter Union buildings to the small lot at the Rose Chapel entrance to Lorimer.

Parking Information: Regular parking is in the Eustis Lot, at the entrance to Cotter Drive between the Eustis and Diamond buildings or, if that is, full, in the Lunder Lot behind Diamond and Admissions.

STRIDER THEATER

Colby's premier theater and dance venue since 1976, Strider Theater is a proscenium-style theater that seats 262. It is the main performance space in the Runnals Building. Strider Theater is used for student theater and dance rehearsals and performances as well as professional touring companies' performances that are part of the Theater and Dance at Colby series. Completed in 1976, the theater is named for Colby's 16th president, Robert E.L. Stider II, and his wife, Helen.

Directions: Follow directions to Colby's campus. As you come onto campus on Mayflower Hill Drive, Runnals is on the left, at the head of the first quadrangle of buildings formed by Foss-Woodman and Mary Low-Coburn. To drop off passengers, turn left onto Runnals Drive after passing the President's House.

Parking Information: Parking is in the Mary Low lot, on the right as you enter the campus.

GIVEN AUDITORIUM

Given Auditorium, located in the Bixler Art and Music Center, is a recital hall used for music performances, lectures, and films. The auditorium seats 294 people.

Given AuditoriumDirections: Follow directions to Colby's campus. As you come onto campus on Mayflower Hill Drive, turn left onto Bixler Drive, the first road after passing Miller Library and the main academic quad. Follow Bixler Drive around to the right to the Roberts Lot, which is located between the Bixler Art and Music Center and the football field.

Parking Information: Parking for events in Given Auditorium is available in the Roberts Lot, between Bixler and the football field.
