Opera Coach Fellowship

The Atlantic Music Festival’s Apprentice Opera Coach Fellowship is a program designed for gifted pianists considering a career in the world of Opera Coaching.

The program is led by renowned vocal coach and pianist Arlene Shrut in collaboration with artist-faculty members of the AMF Opera Workshop.

Program Details

  • All Opera Coach fellows receive full coverage of tuition, housing, and meals for the duration of the festival season.

  • Fellow coaches participate in preparation of all Opera Workshop events.

  • The program offers opportunities to collaborate with Opera Workshop artist-faculty members as well as festival artists, conductors, and composers.

  • Important note: Opera Coach Fellowship and Piano Fellowship are two separate programs. If you wish to apply to both programs, you may do so by meeting audition requirements for both programs.

Audition Requirements

Those interested should complete the online application and upload the following material via our online application site.

  • Submit audio or video recordings of three contrasting works. At least one opera aria and one art song should be included as part of the submitted repertoire. Selections must represent your current level of musicianship.

  • Recordings with singers are preferable, however, solo recordings are also accepted.

  • Recommendations are optional.
