2010 Atlantic Music Festival Announces Call For Entries
Online Submission Form Now Available

New York, NY, 8 September 2009 — Today, the 2010 Atlantic Music Festival announces its call for entries for Fellowship Program applicants. Submission forms can be completed directly online at the official Atlantic Music Festival website.

The Artist Residency Program is open to orchestral instrumentalists, guitarists, pianists, one composer, one conductor, and one recording engineer between the ages of 18 and 34.

ATLANTIC MUSIC FESTIVAL ORCHESTRA 2009 SPECTACULAR FINALE
MUSICAL SUPERSTARS LAREDO AND ROBINSON HEADLINE CONCERT


They will perform under the baton of the young conducting phenomenon Sarah Hicks. They will be joined by two giants of the contemporary classical music scene, violinist Jaime Laredo and cellist Sharon Robinson. They will offer an electric program of pieces from masters of two musical eras.

The 2009 AMF Orchestra is poised to perform the final concert of their first season on Friday, July 24th at 7 PM in Lorimer Chapel on the campus of Colby College in Waterville.

All month long, area audiences have been treated to an exciting series of free concerts--classical and jazz, orchestral and chamber. The musicians? A lineup of some of the world’s finest young musical stars, representing the world’s top conservatories and ensembles, plus very special guest artists.

NEW MUSIC SINGS IN MAINE
CURRENT AMERICAN COMPOSERS FEATURED AT ATLANTIC MUSIC FESTIVAL

New classical music lives and breathes in Waterville. A exciting sampling of the best in contemporary chamber and orchestral music highlights the Atlantic Music Festival. The Festival, being held on the campus of Colby College, brings together a host of the brightest young stars of the classical music scene, for a 15 concert series in July. All concerts are free.

This week at AMF is filled with special musical events. “I, Too, Sing America” on Wednesday, July 8th in Lorimer Chapel, “Summerscape” on Thursday, July 9th, also in Lorimer, “Perfect Harmonies” on Friday, July 10th in Given Auditorium, and “AMF Presents Flute Soloist Jasmine Choi” on Saturday, July 11th in Strider Theatre. These concerts will all take place at 7 PM.
